It's supposed to be a sketch blog. My bad.
So the superhero one is from Thanksgiving. Tatiana and I went on a huge comic spree on Black Friday and got mildly obsessed with the style of some of the New X-Men comics. We made up our own superheroes when we got back to Waco. I think her character's name was "Ion." We drew them on the little cardboard pieces that come in the comic bags.
The two teacher drawings were both done in sociology, which has to be the most mind numbing class I've had yet. The teacher seems real sweet, but the class is auditorium-sized and no one is paying attention, so she seems to have lost interest in it.
Here's the pictures from the last two sketch jams. The first one was "draw a member of the Western Zodiac." I chose Cancer (my sign) and Art Nouveu. Given the opportunity, I'd really like to do this one over. Aside from the crab up top there's really nothing to distinguish the character as being Cancer-ish. If we keep up with the Zodiac drawings, I'll try to make the next few a bit more creative.
The second image was "draw something from a story you're currently reading." When I was up in Denton, Tati bestowed upon me the wonderful gift of many hundreds of e-books. The drawing is of Roland and Jenny from Stephen King's short story "The Little Sisters of Eluria" - part of his Dark Tower/Gunslinger epic. Good read, and fairly short for Stephen King.
Someday, I will be able to draw men that look like real men, and not girly stoner boys. Sorry, Roland. In my mind's eye, you're extremely attractive, and not so buggy eyed.
(EDIT: I totally beat Tati in posting this. FOR SHAME.)
